第一次读Stephen Traxler，感觉并不像介绍所介的那么奇特和有魔力，当然也可能是译文别扭、不合中文文法语境之故，尤其《Spawn of the Slithis》和《Spawn of the Slithis》翻译得晦涩拘谨。其余五六篇应该是不一样的译者，措辞用句倒不会那么不土不洋的生涩，但总觉所描绘的男女情愫少分细腻少分韵致，棱角分明了点儿。
