像这类非虚构作品我挺喜欢，钦佩编剧能专注于一个事件进行深入而长期的研究，最后妙笔润色，成为非常有魅力且富有启迪的作品。这样细致打磨的书本就值得一读，尤其是本剧选定的书写对象，还是试图揭露神秘的精神分裂症大家庭，以及该疾病相关的治疗研究史。 整本剧最动容的地方就是，在加尔文这个悲剧性的家庭中始终有一种温情贯穿其中，不管是来自固执的母亲还是坚强的小女儿，这种爱没有让家庭成员窒息，尚存希望。而另一部分，医学和研究仅仅只是在冷冷地追寻着先天遗传的问题，治疗的手段和成效才是真正让人绝望。但愿将来能有更好的方式帮助这些患者吧。
